"Confederate rose" is a bit of a colloquialism. You are referring, I assume, to a lovely tree or shrub that blooms in the fall and has varying shades of large pink blossoms, large leaves, and many stems or branches. It is actually a type of hibiscus. You can find more information on it on the floridata site. I have found websites that sell it, but if you know somebody who has one, you could grow one by cutting.
