    Hi Everyone,

Not sure if this the right forum ... but thought I would try here first.

Now that the weather is starting to dry up here in Vancouver we have started the project of rebuilding our lawn. The previous owners did not work on the lawn for a number of years - so it is a monumental job to say the least (we have aprox. 1 acre of lawn).

We did a soil PH test and like most soil in the lower mainland our soil is on the basic side (about a 6). The lawn is actually fairly healthy and we have good drainage but moss was/is an issue - which we have taken care of.

So far, we have killed the moss, power raked, cleaned it all up and this weekend we aerated. We were thinking of liming then overseeding ... but now we are considering laying down some reasonable compost as a topdress - then overseeding.

So, we are looking for some half decent compost to topdress the lawn. Does anyone have any recommendations in the Langley, Aldergrove, Abbotsford areas for a supplier of good compost. We are not trying to create fairway lawns ... so we want something that is reasonably priced.

Also, does anyone have any good recommendations of how to put down the topdressing? We have a LARGE broadcast spreader that uses the PTO of our tractor but not sure how well that would work :).

Thanks in advance. Here is to an amazing summer :).

    Curt
