Identification: common red flower

    One of the experts here in this forum might be able to make your flower and put it name to it yet, but for myself, I would need a better photograph with a clearer focus and perhaps a picture that included the leaves of the plant might help put a name to it. Approximate size is another thing that might help pin it down.

    I understand the photo isn't very clear.
    In the middle of the flower is an ant. That gives the approximate size of the flower, however I do not have any photos of the leaves.
    I believe this photo was taken in Mexico.
    Any help is appreciated.

    It might be a kind of Cuphea. Try looking that Genus up. Some are native to Mexico.
