sorry this is all i have, i took this a few weeks ago whilst away. i will have a look to see if i have anymore photos but im not sure.
I wonder if it might be a bluet (Houstonia). The ones that grow wild around here have a more bluish cast to the petals, but this seems to vary somewhat. The plants are quite small and the stems are only about 6 inches tall. They seem to prefer sandy or gravelly soil in somewhat shady places.
thanks, have tried that but nothing exact to the one i have though. yes it is a wild flower, and grows in similar conditions. the closest i have found is to the osmanthus family. somethiing like yunnanensis i think? any help?
Sorry , but the structure of the flower is not right for Osmanthus. Osmanthus is an evergreen shrub/tree. See... http://wellylady.blogspot.com/2009/03/close-encounters-of-horticultural-kind.html Where did you take the picture? Can you remember if it was a wild flower, or was it a shrub?
i see thanks. it was taken in cornwall in a wild spot. this photo was actually on my friends camera. im trying to get him to remember more about it but he cant. im sure this was a bunch of flowers that he took the closeup of, perhaps off a tree.
