Wildflowers: Colombian Tree/Schrub w/Yellow Flowers

I am seeing a profusion of this small tree or large schrub growing along roadsides at lower elevations and they are in full flower. Can anyone identify it?

Thank you saltceder. It certainly looks to be spread out all over...from the Caribbean to South America to Africa. Any idea where it originated?

 

Different forms occur where-ever it grows, so I suspect it's wide ranging in the Americas.
