Colombia Yellow Flower

    What is this plant please? It´s fairly common in the woods around my house at 2100m. Some one I was with called it a Begonia. True?

    Still looks like Achimenes to me. :-)

    Thank you for that tip. A quick look at Wikipedia (hmmm...?) showed this genus to be native to Mexico, Central America and the West Indies. No mention of South America (Colombia). I wonder if my species is an escape which would kind of surprise me since I´ve seen it pretty deep in native woods.

    We have a regular poster from Columbia who may know.
    Could also be another Gesneriad such as Sinningia or Episcia.
