I just bought a hanging fuschia (with the most enormous blooms I have ever seen to give to my Mom for Mothers Day. She lives in Esquimalt. Since it has been pretty cold here on Vancouver Island, and also since Mothers Day is early, will it be ok going outside this Saturday? The porch where it will hang is pretty sheltered.. Thanks, Jane
Should be fine. Even the big-bloomed hybrid Fuchsias are developed from the original high-altitude South American plants, so they're reasonably hardy, especially in sheltered situations.
