I was wondering if anybody has tried to grow a coconut palm before I bought a coconut from the store and planted it and I have it in a plant room at about 90 and The coconut passed the paperclip test. Has anybody had success with doing this?
"I have it in a plant room at about 90 and The coconut passed the paperclip test." What are you refering to here?
Where you can stick a paperclip in one of the eyes of the coconut I have a plant room with other palms. With plant lights and heat. I keep it around 80 to lower 90's. But a sprout has started coming out of the eye. So I am going to keep my fingers crossed and hope I see a leaf in a week or two.
Not sure I read it on a message board and the person said that it was a way to find out if the coconut would sprout.
So what do you look for? Are there any indicators that clue you in? How do you know when "it passed the paperclip test."?
