Can anyone remember a post asking identification of a sycamore with huge clumps of bright red samaras? I think it was sycamore but may have been A. platanoides. There was also an accompanying photo. Cant find it looking back through posts. Thanks
Red would be a lot more characteristic of Acer pseudoplatanus. With the name 'Erythrocarpum' having been coined for a showy form.
There's also Heldreich's Maple (Acer heldreichii) noted for its bright red samaras - pic from summer a couple of years ago. It's probably this one you're asking about; I was unsure whether it was A. heldreichii or A. trautvetteri.
