I bought a Clivia in August and it had a "pup" growing in the same pot. There were no instructions with it but got some on the internet. It bloomed in December and the pup bloomed in Jan but the flower stem didn't stretch above the leaves. The soil mix resembles that which the railroad was built on when I was kid some 70 years ago. It is growing new leaves. The pot is full of roots. I presume it will have to be repotted soon with the pup in a separate pot. Apparently it needs a rest period but the leaves don't die down? So how does one do the potting without damaging the plant? Do we first withhold fertilizer and most of the water? What is the soil mix?
At present it is in an east window - temps 22 day 18 night. Our mobile home has an annex with not much daylight and a 80 watt fluorescent and we can keep the temp where we want as we are not out there much. Allan Down
