Trying too think up some new ideas for my yard, was thinking some bamboo trees but too cold here. I think climbing vines for my fence would be a nice touch, not sure which vines are hardy enough for these verycold canadian winters. My fence is a very sturdy 7ft 2x6 fence.
Lonicera japonica/Honeysuckle is supposed to survive down to zone 3. I believe there are some climbing roses that are hardy to zone2 such as William Baffin, John Cabot and John Davis
Some climbing honeysuckles are good to zone three, Japanese Honeysuckle (Lonicera japonica) is not one of them. I love the fragrance but it won't survive here (z5B) for more than 3 or 4 consecutive winters.
english ivy would be nice its a very hardy vine and really pretty my neighbor has it all along her fence and it stays nice all year long
