climbing hydrangea not blooming

    i have a climbing hydrangea that is in part shade and aprox 5 yrs old. it never seems to grow upwards of about a foot and it has never bloomed? i am in edmonton, zone 3b any suggestions?

    These are slow to start climbing. Try tying it onto the support. As far as the bloom goes maybe your cold climate is killing the flower buds (if any have formed). Do you see others flowering in the vicinity?
