A C. armandii planted last fall is showing extensively chewed leaves from bottom to top (about 80cm). Leaves chewed on edges and in centre, some look "mined" with thin membrane remaining. No slugs going for bait at base of plant. It seems too cold yet for earwigs. Any ideas as to what the culprit might be?

Slugs/snails and weevils are the two pests here, but weevils don't munch out the centre of the leaf.

I would make a trip with a flashlight out there to try and catch the bugger at work...
