I was wondering if anyone reading this would have any idea if it is possible to grow citrus trees (orange, lemons etc.) in southern ontario. Mainly in the ottawa/ Gatineau region.......is it possible for such a tree to handle or survive the winter. I know there is an abudance of apple and other orchards in operation in southern ontario. I am looking at growing fresh fruit for my daughter and was wondering what variety of fruit trees can survive the canadian winter? Thank you on behalf of myself and daughter

London is in zone 6. Ottawa is even colder in zone 5. This is too cold for citrus trees to be grown outdoors. Trifoliate orange, Poncirus trifoliata, is supposedly hardy in zone 5 but then its fruit is not palatable.
