I found this growing on dry land under some Douglas Fir and Western Redcedar in the forest near Snake Lake in Tacoma, WA. Snake Lake is a nature preserve owned by the City. Looks like P. anserina to me but not certain of the species. I could not find any flowering plants.

The cinquefoil is a clumping herbaceous plant, with a number of leaves all coming from a common base near the ground. If you look more closely at these Sorbus aucuparia seedlings you will see they are instead baby trees. With the leaves arranged up and down single main stems that will become woody trunks later.
