I am new here I have a question about the Chinese windmill palm.
What would make a palm turn brown?

Not enough information to tell what happened. Try giving some background details, like how long you've had it, what it has experienced recently etc.

Maybe winter cold? Kentucky is probably close to the northern limit of where it can be grown in the eastern US. Did you get below about -20°C last winter?
