My 5 ft chestnut tree has all its leaves fallen off, is now the best time to transplant it to another area?

    Regards.

    Tony.

If this is natural time for leaves to drop (autumn) then timing of transplanting should be optimal.

It's actually winter here at the moment, however we have had really different weather conditions.

It's ok just make sure you get the root ball big enough and that you give it a good composty soil. Where abouts roughly are you in Melb. for soil types. Wind may also be a problem
