QUESTION - in Japan - are diff cherry breed names associated w different regions or cities ? I imagine the broad climate of Japan would have some influence on which « name » cherry blossom is associated with which region/city. Another way of asking same question - does Yokohama (for example) have an official cherry tree (name) and another city might have one « invented » in their region etc. I think we would welcome more plant diplomacy esp these days (ok, no invasives)
