I have a problem. The new leaf growth on my cherry tree has a small black bug investation. The leaves become covered in this bug and the entire area is sticky with the residue -- to a quick glance this looks like a fungus, but they are individual. There appears to be a black sticky substance on the trunk bark as well. This tree is growing in Trail, BC. what is it and what is the cure? thanks for any help you can provide.
