    Hi guys,

First post, so this may have been identified before!

Our bush produces alot of these green fruit, similar to a cherry, every year, and they do turn a red color later in the year.

I'm wondering what plant this is, and if the fruit is edible!

The bush/tree stands 15 feet tall, runs from single stump but branches quickly into 5-8 main stems. It also has vicious 2-3 inch thorns in the fall.

    Thanks, and good luck!

Tastes like a real plum, only small. Extremely weedy. It grows from the seeds all over my backyard.

The fruit quality varies a lot from plant to plant, some are sour, inedible without cooking, others are very nice and juicy with a good flavour.
