Have just moved to new house.

Tree in garden has fruit that look exactly like cherries, taste exactly like cherries (delicious! - have tasted a couple) but before eating them in any quantity or feeding them to my children (!) i want to check that there is no possibility that they could be dangerous/poisonous etc

Neighbours are no help as apparantly the tree has never produced fruit before.

Would be grateful for any comments. (please don't suggest photo - just registering and writing this tested my IT skills to the limit!) Thanks.

The two commonly planted orchard cherries are Prunus avium and P. cerasus. Try Google Image Search.
