    Which means more land converted from wild land, nature reserves, etc., to low biodiversity cropland to satisfy human desires.

    I'm very far from convinced this is a good thing.

    Well, it's a step in the right direction. It made the news and people watch it thus heightening awareness.. you responded right..promotes discussion and awareness of the issues.

    But in the context of greenhouse gas reduction, what is important is what proportion of the biomass needed to produce and deliver the fuel is fossil fuel. The amount of fossil fuel needed to produce and deliver gasoline is double the amount that would be needed for a similar BTU quantity of corn starch ethanol.

    Heard the other day that aircraft are very big contributors to poluting the earth, particularly the night flights. Does Sir Richard look at his aircraft emissions?
