Oof, work was brutal this week - no energy at all this morning. Just a few pics while I was out just now - I neglected them this week due to how busy I was, and may lose my atropopureum because of it. Given everyone a thorough watering (and it's raining) so hopefully not too much damage resulting...

Oh @Xi-feng I love your garden so much. I totally can relate to getting too busy to care for them properly but clearly your doing something amazing

 

Aww, thank you Lisa! Yes, its so frustrating since I'd identified there was an issue and I would need to give them some time on Friday, but I just ended up getting so slammed with work that it didn't happen (which is not an excuse). Totally my fault, but it's the tree that's suffering. Thank you for the kind words, and if the little guy pulls through I will let you all know! :)

 

Good morning, well on a day when the country has gone football mad, I found tranquility in my garden amongst my maples and they are dry at last, Lol.

They are Anne Irene, Zaaling x2, Aconitifolium, Lileeanne's Jewel, Murasaki Kiyohime, Gwen's Rose Delight and Metamorphosa.

@Xi-feng how do you find the grow bags over winter? Do they mould? Do you wrap them or bring them inside?

 

Some more summer leaves and new growth. So far still a mild summer here fortunately. Best of luck to everybody experiencing heat waves at the moment. I hope these pictures can cheer you up just a little bit.

Hey Lisa, this will actually be my first winter with the grow bags so we'll see how it goes - I'm considering wrapping them in bubble-wrap so they can drain from the bottom but have some insulation at the sides (they're also off the ground which may help a bit)

...However! This study gives me hope (albeit it's not wholly unbiased) so we shall see what happens, and I'll certainly report back next Spring with how well (or not) my bagged guys are doing....

Good morning, well it's a dull day with lots of rain forecast, so I took these just before it started. All the wet weather has been quite good, but for some it's showing that they need some sunshine now.

They are:- Tsuma beni, Arakawa, Beni Otake, Sunset, English Town, Beni tsukasa, Oshu shidare and Mr Sun.
