Good morning everyone, I ventured outside very early as the sun was shining but the heavy clouds were approaching. I managed to get a few that were dry and the rest with rain drops. I made sure I got Anne Irene as it was talked about last night. So this is first, followed by Red Wine,Red Flamingo, Amagi shigure, Villa Taranto, Coral Pink, Westonbirt orange, Manyo-no-Sato, and Corallinum.
Now it's pouring down, so everything is getting the soaking I was hoping for.

Wow D those are great. I adore the Anne Irene and the Amagi Shigure I haven’t seen those around here or heard of them before the other day. I had coral pink on my list but these may get added I’ll have to read about them and see if I can accommodate the sun requirements. I am so very happy with the Hana Matoi recommendation you gave me before.

Thanks Lisa. Anne Irene is becoming more popular by the day. It's hardier than Orange Dream which is similar and has a wonderful tint to the lobe edges. Definatly one to look out for IMO. And what can I say about Amagi shigure that hasn't already been said, other than give it some rain drops and just stand and stare...
So glad you are enjoying Hana Matoi, the variegation should be starting to show now as the month goes on. You will never regret adding it to your ever growing collection.

I tend to agree. The colour tones are very nice but the leaf shapes are not very elegant. From the thumbnails it looks amazing, but when expanded not so much... in the garden would probably look best from a distance. There are a few similar types in different colour tones, the word *raggedy* comes to mind when trying to describe them. Loved the pics but one for the collectors if you ask me.

maf you hit the nail right on the head there, always nice in the spring time but tends to get a bit crispy around the edges the further you get into the summer, and again dependent where it's situated, as i said previously a good one to mix in with the other cultivars and break everything up, but keep your eye on it for sure.

Good morning, enjoying a cup of tea and my recent purchases, while contemplating where exactly are they all going to go when, hopefully, they get larger, lol.
Still, there's worse problems to have.

A lot of mine are at that summer green phase where there's lots of growing going on - it's very pleasing to the eye of the grower, but I find it hard to get good/interesting pictures at this stage of the year. Here are a few that caught my eye on this dull morning, though:

Peaches & Cream, Otome Zakura, Saiho, Kotohime:

Morning Xi, lovely pictures. I'm really surprised by the colour difference between yours and mine Olsen's and Uncle, starting to think I should be given them some more shade.

Haha, funnily enough I'd noticed that your Olsen's and Uncle were much darker than mine and was wondering about that too - I have them in one of the sunnier spots of my garden, so we're clearly doing something different - but what that something might be I have no idea! Funny, aren't they?

Hmm honestly I prefer the way yours look - particularly that gorgeous rose-pink on your Olsen's! If it were me, I'd keep on doing whatever you're doing - they look gorgeous and I'm quite jealous! :)

So lovely and with the peaches and cream front and centre, I’m on a hunt for that one. What’s the one to the left of it?
