Hi everyone, I managed to take a few this morning before the lovely rain, can't believe after the Winter we have all had I'm pleased to see the rain. Any way in order:- Musashino, Fujinama Nishiki, Corallinum, Amagi Shigare, Deshojo, Geisha, Reticulatum Purple and Coral Magic.
Thought I would do a RED day today, plus a couple of pinks.
Hope you like my selection today.

Hi dicky5ash, thanks for that and yours also are looking great and a lot further along than mine.
Can I share a photo of a seedling I've been growing for 3 years now. Just throwing it out to the Forum for thoughts? It's a real favourite of my wife's. Hope you all like it too.

Hi Dicky5ash, beautiful Baldsmith color, thanks.
How tall is your Scolo now and is this one green linearilobum (not the Redrum one)?. Mine is ~12-13yrs old and now probably 12-14ft tall, how tall can this one be?.

I got this one interesting tree, it either hi-grafted or T-grafted but it looks as though the rootstock came from a linearilobum green graft to a Tamuke Yama scion. So a branch from the rootstock grows out (green) mixing with the scion make it a bit interesting in the Spring as well as falls. Spring pic is this yr but the falls pic took few yrs ago.

Hi Atapi, that is one very interesting tree or two, or one!!!!!! I can see why you have kept it as it is, nobody else will have one like that. Really enjoyed seeing it, thankyou. Might be a good one for your profile picture??

    Hi Atapi,

I really like my Baldsmith, it was a decent size, not a young tree when it was bought for me as a birthday present, but it looked rather drab, not that interesting, but it has become really colourful over the last 2years, it’s vivid pink in the Autumn, I’ve had it 6years now.

re Scolo, yes it’s a pale green, turns yellow in the Autumn.. it was quite large when I purchased it probably 1.8m it’s now about 2.8m, 3years later..I need to pot it on, it’s in a large metal trash can/bin at the moment. It’s canopy has developed a really nice shape

Hi Jaybee63, I agree the articulation is really bold. A seedling from Shigitatsu Sawa?
IMO Wakehurst Pink is a rather under rated cultivar. I love the size of the leaves on this one.
Great photos on this wet morning in Hampshire. Thankyou.

Would welcome your comments on my seedling I posted yesterday? Its always nice to hear if people like a new one.

Acerholic, your seedling looks very interesting actually. Long thin leaves with brown edging. Any idea where it came from?

Hi Luke, haven't heard from you for a while, hope your well?
TBH I really dont know, I do have a Scolopendrifolium close to where I found it. But I've seen nothing like this one anywhere. I have looked on the UBC and online nurseries but nothing. Am really hoping I've got a new one here, fingers crossed.

It will be one to watch and photograph at various stages through the seasons. Who decides if it's new or not?

Thanks. I only got Jordan over the winter so this is my first year with it. It really is as bright as it looks on the pics too. I should have sought it out earlier.

The Maple Society, I would think Emery might be the one to be able to comment on its possibilities.

How exciting. And then you would be able to name it, and potentially grow, graft and sell it on?
