I have got a DLSR camera but to be honest the cameras on these I-phones and others are so good it’s hardly worth messing about with the DLSRs, unless of course you really know what you’re doing with them, which I don’t!!!

    Happy snapping!

Absolutely lovely pics. That green dissectum is incredible. I bet it glows in Autumn. Your Wakehurst pink looks very different to mine. I wo der whether I have something else?

Oh my gosh so many to look at, this what this thread is all about , 'brilliant'
My Wakehurst pink has some pink leaves just starting on the underside. It is a very delicate tree if you look at your photo and the green leaf. That is what mine is like atm. In a couple of weeks mine will look like yours. Think I'm in a very cold zone this year, ridiculous how long mine are taking coming into leaf. My ukigumo has swollen buds that's all lol. Mikazuki is a lovely tree we enjoy ours each year. It is one that gets comments from friends. The shirasawanum's are a treat to the eyes, the only let down is they don't always do well in the Autumn. I am totally with you on reticulated leafed maples. My favourites as well.

Oh btw, my Green Disectum and Red Dissectum are our two 42 year old maples. My wife and I bought them for our first wedding anniversary. They were so cheap to buy at the time but have given the most pleasure re Autum colour out of all of our maples. Might be a bit biased though!!!!!!

Wow. What a great idea. Were they just babies when you bought them?

Oh yes, very tiny and tbh we never ever thought they would be with us after a 42 years and five house moves. So the moto is "a maple is for life not just an anniversary".

Hi Jaybee63, that's a great Higasayama and a lovely photo. One of the oldest maples, about 1880 I think.
    Thanks for posting it.
    And wow what a lawn!!!
