Artemisia of some sort. If it was over here, I'd say Mugwort Artemisia vulgaris, but I don't know if that occurs as a weed in Sask.
Thanks for your replies!!! Much appreciated! After some online follow-up to your suggestions, I do not believe it is a ragweed from looking at the leaves....they are much different than the plant I saw. I am also having trouble matching it up to an Artemesia....the leaves were not silvery in colour nor did they emit an odour!??? Any more ideas???? Andrea

I think it looks rather like Chenopodium spp. Sometimes at the end of summer, the leaves on the species in my region will become quite thin and sparse among the seed heads at the top.
