Only if you cut back so far you are into the bare growth of what was previously the inside of the canopy. A hedge with green sides and a bare top is not a lovely sight - at least when viewed from above. And even then topmost branches may grow new leads out near the ends, where there is foliage.
Thank you Ron. I have another two questions: 1- How many feet does the cedar grow (In height) per year if they were never trimmed? 2- I have some Cedar trees at 10 feet and other at 6 feet. I would like to transfer the 10 feet into the 6 feet location and vice versa. Do they survive? and how deep should I go to get their roots off.
