Hello, just to let you know that there is a natural solution to leaf spot fungus which I have found works. If you have access to a cedar tree, pick up any fallen fronds and place them around the affected plant. You might notice an improvement immediately or after a few weeks. I tried this out on some red tip photinia fraseri that I have that were really suffering - they were so bad I was actually contemplating digging them out - and have since made a few applications of some cedar. Since the beginning of October, the plants have made a major improvement. The cedar seems to kill the fungus.
You are of course talking about western redcedar (Thuja plicata). The first question is did the condition abate coincidentally with the applcation of the cedar foliage? Maybe the leaf spot shuts down in fall anyway.
Yes, I was referring to western red cedar. Actually, the plants have been gradually recovering, so I don't think it's a case of the fungus "shutting down" for the season. I got the idea off the internet, so there must be other people out there who have had the same success.
