This species is, according to wikipedia, found in mountainous areas of western North America, but I've never seen it here in northern New Mexico, nor is it mentioned in Mushrooms of Colorado (and the Southern Rocky Mountains) Any of you in the PNW ever see this species? Via tywkiwdbi
I think I've seen it (Calvatia sculpta) somewhere in the PNW region, but I can't remember where. The Website, Pacific Northwest Distributions of Fungi, shows its presence in WA, OR, and ID; so, it it probably can be found further south as well.
