    Hello,
A bunch of these are growing under some sort of pine tree in our yard. Just wondering if anyone can help identify? Seems to be a bolete, based on the spongelike undercap - tiny holes, as opposed to gills. They are about 3-5 inches tall, brownish/red top, orange underneath that bruises dark when scratched.

Had problems getting the camera to focus so close, unfortunately...

    thanks in advance!

Are the stems 'shaggy' looking? And do you still have the mushroom cap? If you do....can you put part of it on dark paper and part of it on light.....spongy side down...and leave there a couple hours to see what color the spore print looks like? Is the bruising blue would you say or another sort of color tone?

    Hi Clarko,

Can you see glandular dots on the upper stem (with a handlens or magnifying glass)?
