    Hi all

Last Fall I fell in love with the Catalpa trees in the City. I collected a few of the seed pods and managed to get about 6 to start.

They are thriving but will need a home. I am told they aren't native plants but I like to think of them as beautiful immigrants.

Does anyone know of anyone that would like to have one of these in their garden? These big beauties are what you see lining the streets in Point Grey and at the train station at Main and Terminal. The have lovely flowers (attached) in the spring summer and broad leaves that change colours in the fall.

While I'm at it - I have quite a few of Horse Chestnut trees as well.

Unfortunately, many of these are not suitable for backyard gardens. One of the reasons they are planted as street trees is so that they can grow to their full potential (and be admired by folks like you!)
