Catalpa bignonioides or Catalpa speciosa???

    Anyone knows what tree is this?

    Size: like Pride of India (Melia azedarach)

    Looks like Catalpa bignonioides.

    Looks more like Catalpa speciosa, C. Bignonioides has darker leaves and the blossom has a lighter throat.

    Measure the pod diameter:
    Under 1cm = likely C. bignonioides
    Over 1cm = likely C. speciosa

    C. speciosa produces fewer, larger flowers in each cluster.
