   Just up from seashore, Gabriola Island, in SW-facing arbutus/douglas fir forest. Castilleja littorals? Seems to be open, since living in the shade, not how you'd normally see it. If not, I'm lost.

   Why not Castilleja hispida?
   
   Castilleja affinis subsp. litoralis looks to have been reunderstood: Castilleja miniata var. dixonii
