Formally Caryopteris was listed by the UBCBG as being in Verbenaceae. GRIN (Germplasm Resources Information Network), IPNI (International Plant Names Index) and the Angiosperm Phylogeny Website list it in Lamiaceae. The family name will be changed accordingly.

Name changes are recorded in our plant records; however, labeling of individual plants may not reflect these changes until the completion of a subsequent inventory.

As incongruous as it is to formerly think of Teak (Tectona) in the Verbena family, to now think of it in the Lamaiceae :-)
