where should i put my rhyncostylis? I live in the philippines and its a tropical country.... I grow my orchids in my garden on the southwest portion are my driftwood with all my vandas and ascocenda. It receives bright light everyday but i noticed the leaves got scorched and it turned brown... or is it because of the fertilizer that i sprayed ....
I think that Rhynchostylis might take a bit less light than a Vanda, described as bright indirect light. It might need a bit to slowly get used to higher light levels espescially if it was previously grown in shadier conditions. Having said all that, I grow mine under lights in the Canadian sub-arctic where R. gigantea couldn't be much further from home as opposed to your conditions which are very close to it's natural home. I think if you keep it moist and move to a slightly shadier position in the garden it will recover and bloom for you. The fragrance on mine is fantastic. Good luck. Shaun
