    I can't give you any advice on the clay soil, but the amount of sun should be OK. Mine is in full sun in zone 7/8. One thing you want to keep on top of is cutting off shoots that grow from the rootstock. These shoots will be straight, not contorted. They seem to pop up very quickly on mine, and grow rather fast too.
