There are several of these fast-growing plants amongst a shade-impacted cedar hedge.
I suspect they spread underground. The stems seem to be woody, but I have cut them down before they have a chance to grow a second year. The plants certainly have no trouble growing back.
    Anyone know what they are?

Well done, paion. I had the wrong picture to go with the description I gave!
