Can You Tell Me What This Is?

    Hi Everyone,
    I saw this at a store and bought it. I thought that it would look good hanging on a wall.
    The people at the store, had no idea as to what kind of plant/tree this was from.
    Can you tell me what this is?

    I'm just guessing here, but without actually measuring it, I would estimate it to be about 50 inches long.

    kind of looks like the flower stalk from a yucca - and the size would be right.

    Is it the fruit or the flower? I can see my suggestion is totaly wrong so have removed it. Saw it in a flower arraingment today and it was definatly not correct.

    If Attalea sp are palms I'd say you're spot on, if that's not a palm spadix I'd be shocked.
