While sitting on my daughter's porch, I noticed something in the trees near her creek. It is very unusual. It is about 5 ft. tall, has a thick green stem, and has leaves shaped in flat circles going all around the stem. Each circle is a symetrical row and is spaced about 10 inches above the other. This one has about 6 circles of leaves. It is pretty and my daughter mentioned putting it in one of her flowerbeds. But.........we don't know what it is or if it could be poisonous. Does anyone know what this could possible be and/of if it is safe to handle? Thank you so much!

I do not yet know how to use these digital cameras. I will ask my daughter or grandson to help me. (I can't see it except in the early morning, after about noon it seems to blend into the foliage too much to find it.)

    Dear Joclyn,
Sorry it took so long. Enclosed are pictures she took of the tree, weed or whatever it is. We liked it because to us, it is so unusual.

Almost looks like a mardigon lily. Does it have flower heads?
