My step mom brought over a clipping from a tree that has grown in her back yard for the last 15 years. She noticed it has some fruit like things growing on it and brought a snip over to my house when she visited. I'm guessing it's a crab apple but I'm not rally great at identifying trees. She thought it was a cherry but The fruit is oval in shape and had multiple seeds in the middle when I cut it open, and grew with more than 2 fruits per node...

Any ideas from those of you who are smarter than me would be appreciated :)

    Thanks!

Yes it is a crab apple - perhaps Oregon crab apple. If wanting to narrow it down to a specific kind of crab apple look that one (Oregon crab apple) up and see if stated pertinent details seem to fit.

    Thanks Ron!

That LOOKS like a match from the pictures. I'll have a closer look at it next time im over to see if the description matches the tree when closely inspected :)

I'll let you know if I have any other questions but from what I'm seeing I think this mystery is solved :)

    Thanks again!
    Cheers

Well Ron, my step mom reviewed the details and compared it with the tree out back and she is quite convinced that you hit the nail on the head! Great job! Thank you for your experience and expertise, it is much appreciated!
