Identification: Can you Identify this plant?

    Its about 6 feet tall. I was given this plant by a friend. I live in Hawaii and was told its a full light plant. Can you ID it so I can care for it properly.

    Cordyline Rubra, I think, full sun / part shade they prefer protection from high winds and cold, they like high humidity, watering occasionally when soil begins to dry and don't keep too wet.
    You may want to cut tops occassionally to help keep it bushy as they will go leggy unpruned. Cut at any point in the trunk and within a couple of weeks it will re-shoot. Pruned pieces can be planted in soil and easily rooted, then you could maybe pass a piece along to the next friend:}

    And a very nice specimen too! I just planted some seeds of this plant...I really hope they turn out as good as yours:)
