This is my first post, so I hope I get this right and manage to upload the photos. My friend has this shrub at his new house and I am attempting to ID it for him. It is about 4-5 ft tall, deciduous, has very velvety leaves and white lace cap hydrangea type flowers. I would say it is a hydrangea, but I have never seen a hydrangea with such tomentose leaves. Can anybody help me with what it is? Thanks so much!
Yes, this is a Hydrangea. It appeared here on BPotD: http://www.botanicalgarden.ubc.ca/potd/2009/07/hydrangea_aspera_subsp_aspera_macrophylla.php Welcome to the Forum!
There are deciduous or evergreen, some are bushes and can climb and there are trees, also different colors.
