I need some help identifying this tree. Its in our back yard and for three years we've been reffering to it as "the pink tree". Now I'd like to know exactly what kind of tree it is.
Any experts out there? I've included a close up as well as one that shows the leaves as well as flowers.

No wonder. I was sure it was a Bignoniaceae and I thought of Chilopsis linearis and Catalpa, but neither one fit. Didn't know of a Chitalpa.

Chitalpa is a hybrid of the two you named above.
