Hi there. A friend of mine gave me some seeds from a flower, and I would like to know what this thing is. The plant grows about 3 - 4 feet high, and has delicate pink flowers on it. In August-September, the plant develops small pods full of tiny black seeds. The pods range from 2 - 4 inches, and are only about 3/8 " in diameter.
The big purple bush full of flowers that you see in the picture is an aster! I just can't figure out what these pink flowers are - so I hope that you can help.
    Thanks so much!

Hi Vicki, looks like cleome. It also comes in shades of purple and white.

    Howdy Vicki,
Eric is correct. The plant is a cleome. You can keep your own seeds if it is not a hybrid. Otherwise seeds are readily available in all garden centres.
    Peace
