    Hello y'all!

As the title says, can you grow a Robinia in a large container, and if so, what are the pros and cons?

    All replies appreciated!

Best regards to all and sundry,

    KEN.

A large Robinia like Robinia pseudoacacia or a small one like Robinia hispida? Both will grow in containers but the flowering and adaptability will likely be better on the smaller species. It's not the sort of tree that I would dedicate container space to though, it doesn't have enough going for it. Flowers are short lived, tree leafs out fairly late, it's spiny, somewhat messy, and fairly sparse foliage.

    What size is 'large'?

If it holds a cubic metre or more of soil, then no problem.

Thanks for your reply, I think a cubic yard is bit too much for the container I had in mind!

Still, it gives me another idea!

    Many thanks.

    Ken!
