can watermelons be thorny

    I planted a pacage of sugar baby watermelon plants 5 of the plants are growing up more than vineing out and also are vary thorny 2 are vines and no thorns or flowers can they be thorny or am I looking at a lookalike I'm lost please help also are those small round thorny things melons

    Gotta second the nightshade suggestion. Your photos look almost exactly like the ones he linked to for you. Watch your fingers when you pull those things out!
