Can Vulcan Magnolia grow in Ottawa, ON?

Hi,

I read from online that Vulcan Magnolia can stand the cold weather in New Zealand. If so, can it grow in Ottawa area, ON? How about Yulan?

Please advise. Do appreciate.

Half purple Campbell magnolia, not too likely to grow in a severe climate. For a nice reddish-purple flower color maybe try 'Susan'.

Hi,
I'm a wholesale distributor of magnolias for eastern Canada. I live in Ottawa. Vulcan is not a hardy one for this area. I only ship them to Niagara and Nova Scotia, (warmer zones).
If you want a similar flower, try m. Blushing Belle, Daybreak, Cleopatra, or Genie.
