Am researching feasibility of "naturalizing" a turf lawn area with plugs of native grasses, native flowers such as yarrow, lupin or other grasses that would grow harmoniously with grasses and letting the lawn turf which includes red fescue grow long, along with the native grasses and flowers. With the idea of cutting everything back it 2 or 3 times a year. Reasons why turf grass would not naturalize, with benign neglect, along with the native grasses? Thanks.
