Someone gave me this plant for Christmas and I have no clue what it is. I want to make sure I take care of it right, and also make sure the berries are not bad in a house with animals.

    thanks

Wintergreen. Fruits are edible, plant is source of oil of wintergreen. A cold climate species, specimen probably won't like being indoors for very long.

Thank you so much! I guess I should plant them in the back yard then if it does not like the in doors very much.

I think the fruit smells of Ralgex or Vics. May be edible but I have never wanted to try them! It's an ericaceous plant also so make sure you plant in peaty acid soil and never let it dry out.
